Day 3! The last day, Tokyo, Miyajima and Seiryumon Restaurant!

Man, I can't believe today was my last day in Japan! It was such an amazing experience! With the different culture, language, buildings, just everything was so magnificient!! At the beginning of the day I decided to go to Miyajima because I heard it was a beautiful island where they worshipped it as it was a god! Which I thought was very interesting! This belief, passed down from generation to generation, has protected Itsukushima Shrine, many other shrines and temples as well as the island's unique culture, and its sacred nature. Renowned for being a world cultural heritage site today, Miyajima is an island where people and gods dwell together! Haha I learned alot while I was there!! After that I decided I wanted to some lunch so I went to a very high populated restaurant called Seiryumon!Chinese food at a restaurant with a surreally decorated "Heaven or Hell" theme. The toilets  in the mens and womans bathroom is shaped like a pair of lips and sings opera at you!! It was sooo awkward but so funny and cool at the same time! Everybody else that came into the bathroom seemed as if they were used to it and enjoyed it!! What the heck! It was eerie sittin' on the potty, havin' that face look at me. Then after a few moments, loud funky music started to play and soon the face moved forward.  I just sat there, wondering if my legs would be crushed or something! I had to hurry finish my business and stood to the side of the toilet and watched amusedly as the face spared a few inches between itself & the toilet front before it slowly retreated back. I think it also said "come again" after it had shifted back to its original position and the music stopped. I get the feeling not a whole lotta women use this bathroom, heh heh heh.I wanted to see what colorful monstrosity was in the men's bathroom so a dudedtook a pic for me. I'm told that when you pee into the giant mouth, loud music starts to play, the mouth then sways, the arms above move, waving a gold bar and a flashing camera, as if taking a picture of you. After the show, it said "Come again." Atfer my awkward moment I saved the best for last and finally went to Tokyo!!! :D Words can't explain how beautiful it was!! The lights, the people, cars everywhere, taxis, signs, high billboards it was extrodinary! I couldn't have picture a better ending to the vacation!! Well I really hope you enjoyed my blog! And learned and saw alot more of Japan than you had before! :D

Day 2: Miyajima, Kamakura, and Ginza!

View Image
Ginzs! Cool picture effects, huh?
Ahh today was another phenomenal day!! This morning I went to Miyajima and saw the “floating torii” which is  arguably Japan’s most iconic man-made landmark! Its basically  a monument tat symbolizes Japan, but is actually a small part of a complex of shrines on Miyajima, which translates to the “Island of Shrines” for good reason. Haha as you can see I learned alot while I was there! After a nice lunch of sushi I went to Kamakura. Which happens to be alongside the "floating torii" so it was a very convientent stop!
Although the Daibutsu gives Kamakura its deserved recognition the city’s historical record is long and rich. It is no accident that a period in Japanese history is named the Kamakura period (1185-1333), which marked the beginning of the shogunate established in the city! I went to Ginza, Tokyo last because it’s ground zero for neon, shopping, and as close to what Tokyo calls center, or downtown, for such a huge city. And Ginza is  known to best experienced at night so you can view the electronic fireworks which I might add was Ah-Mazzin'!! Lol
Well Goodnight,
Jazzy.(:

Well here's some photos of todaay!

Day1: Mt Fuji, Tokinokane, Yakushima Island! Japan[:

July 27, 2010- 12:17 pm

A really pretty waterfall in Yakushima Island!

Today was an amazing day! I know it's late but I just had to post how my first day went! After I got off the plant I took a little nap and went around asking about some nice places to visit that tourists enjoy! After a long while of translating and frustation I finally decided to go to Mt. Fuji! Japan's most famous and most sacred mountain.  It is held in reverence by the Japanese and climbing its trail is a rite of passage it's also Japan's tallest peak! Afterwards I went to Tokinokane and saw the huge bell clock! They still ring the bell 4 times a day like they did back in the old days which i think is REALLY cool they don't give up their traditions! The last place i visited before it got super dark was Yakushima Island! Man I think that was the prettiest place I've ever beent too!  I had so many pictures but I couldn't upload all of them! Well man I'm exhastued so i'll keep you updated some more tommorow!
Goodnight,
Jazzy!

I love the reflection of Mt. Fuji on the water!
